Information for Geeks
Advanced Comment/Feedback Control
Easyjournal gives you an extremely high degree of control over how comments are posted to your journal. You have the option of specifying whether (1) anyone, (2) only registered users or (3) nobody can post comments. You can also control whether or not you have to approve comments before they appear on your journal—and you can specify even further if approval is required for everyone or just non-registered users. Readers can also send you private messages, which will arrive in your account "inbox"—and you have the same degree of control over these messages as you do with public comments.

XML Feeds in Two Flavors
Easyjournal works great with newsreader software and other third-party XML applications. We publish feeds in RSS 2.0 and Atom.

HTML-ready Posts
Our entry form does accept most HTML, so you can liven up your entries with tables, inline images, formatted text and even embedded audio. The “About Me” field in your Member Profile is also HTML-ready.

Entry and Date Format Control
Easyjournal lets you choose the number of entries you want to show up on your blog. You can specify anywhere from 1 to 30 most recent entries or most recent days of entries. You can also specify your time zone and select from 10 different U.S. and European date formats.

Detailed Visitor Stats
Your Easyjournal account shows you a variety of daily, monthly and yearly statistics on how your journal is being accessed. Our reporting includes bar charts on monthly visits and posted comments, visits in current day, current month, and monthly averages.

Permanent Links to Entries
Every entry has its own permanent link so that you can send the URL to friends or colleagues without doing the old “go to this page and scroll down to where it says Tuna Casserole” routine.

ETML Templates (Easyjournal PRO required)
If you know HTML and CSS you will love ETML (Easyjournal Template Markup Language). ETML gives you full formatting control over your journal layout and stylesheet. A proprietary tag-set, ETML accommodates your blog’s nesting and looping logic so that you can format just about any viewable element on your journal.
